Richard Formato, Sales Edge - Founder and CEO

Richard paid for his college education by setting retail store's as his weekend and summer job, then progressed in the same field thru his graduation from Harvard Business School.

Richard Formato started his career in 3rd party retail services its the business infancy. In the late 80's, as retail consolidation progressed from a regional to national business.

Under his leadership, Sales Edge grew from 3 employee's to a diversified international company performing in store merchandising, store construction, at home warranty inspection and repair, and just in time stocking.

Sales Edge take's a unique approach, working directly with retailer's to solve their problem's with cost efficiencies.

Richard has been appointed by the last 3 Virginia Governor's to serve on the Board of Directors for Conservation and Recreation, and is a long serving Member of the Board of Trustee's for The Shenandoah National Park. He serves on The Advisory Board of Entrust Bankcard and is a private equity investor in several mid cap companies. He is a nationally ranked fly fisherman, and former Head Coach of Fly Fishing Team USA Youth.

He was one of Founding Member's of The Virginia Chapter of Young President's Organization, and is active in various leadership role's at YPO, and now WPO.

John F. Biagas, Bay Electric - President & CEO

John F. Biagas started his career as an electrician trainee about the same time he started elementary school. The youngest of 14 children, John joined his brothers and sisters working in the family’s business, Biagas & Sons' Electric, owned and operated by his father, Alvin Biagas, Sr.

Growing up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, John spent his weekends and after school hours learning the electrical service business and helping his father and brothers. After studying business management and accounting and playing on the college baseball team at McNeese State University, he joined three of his older brothers in Maryland. There they formed their own Electrical and General Contracting business, AVA Electric. At AVA, he not only fine tuned his skills as an electrician, but he also learned to manage a fast-paced contracting company. In 1997, wanting to run his own company, John purchased Bay Electric and moved his family to Newport News, Virginia, home of Bay Electric.

One of the founders of the Hampton Roads, VA, IEC Chapter, he served as IEC's Senior Vice President, chaired the Government Affairs Committee for two years, served on the organization's Executive Committee, and was the IEC National Treasurer and Vice President before being elected president by the organization membership. Currently, he serves on numerous boards both local and statewide such as An Achievable Dream, Boys and Girls Club, Virginia Minority Suppliers Development Council, and is a founding Member/Board Director of Virginia Company Bank and the Young President's Organization (YPO), Virginia Chapter.

Neal Cheek, Sales Edge - President

When Neal Cheek started his career after Elon College, Lowe's Home Improvement when Lowe's was a small regional provider with an average store size of 15,000 SF. When Neal retired at 44 year's old, he was one of the top tenured employee's and Lowe's was a Fortune 50 company, and one of the top retailers in the world. 

As the Director of Lowe's store service programs, Neal oversaw Lowe's employee's who serviced Lowe's stores. He came to Sales Edge 5 year's ago and manages the day to day for Sales Edge big box and mid box programs.

Neal's strength is aligning the needs of the customer to the product's Sales Edge offers, and being the point man for the Field Operations.

Neal is on The Board of The YMCA.
